New Construction Commercial Building MACH

A new home for makers, so that visions can become reality.

The Koch site is a household name for many Zurich residents. For years, it was a topic of public debate and made numerous headlines. Now, the long-cherished vision is becoming a reality: almost 400 apartments and a modern commercial building are being built on the approximately 30,000 square meter site.
We are responsible for tasks in the overall coordination of the construction process and the interface with the contractors in the commercial building sector for Senn Construction AG.
The commercial building offers flexible rental spaces with room heights of over six meters. Thanks to an optional gallery floor, the usable area can almost be doubled. The offer is supplemented by meeting zones and a new city park, which is being realized by Grün Stadt Zürich. This is creating a place for exchange, collaboration and new forms of urban coexistence.
Sustainability plays a central role in this project. The external facade will be greened, loggias will be planted with climbing plants and watered with collected rainwater. Recycled timber frame constructions, CO₂-reduced concrete and a photovoltaic system on the roof will be used. The project impressively demonstrates how future-oriented construction is possible in the city - if there is the will.
